Convert an Image to Greyscale in Javascript or jQuery
is it possible to convert an image on the client side to greyscale in javascript or using jQuery or just plain javascript ?

The Answer
yes, it's possible but you have to use the canvas element, it's a html 5.

You have to draw the image to a canvas element and change the image rgb data,
here's a tutorial : greyscale image with jquery on mouseover

but this will not work on old browsers, like ie8 ie7 ... since they dont support Html5.
